Our Heart and Values
The foundation of Lice Sisters was shaped by the values Elyse observed growing up. With a mother who was a teacher and licensed cosmetologist, and a father who was a family practitioner, she witnessed daily dedication, kindness, and unconditional care toward others. This upbringing instilled a deep commitment to helping people and a belief that when you lead with generosity, it returns in meaningful ways. Our business is guided by three core qualities: determination, persistence, and care.
The "Ithy" Origin Story
The journey of Lice Sisters began when Elyse’s six year old nephew, Sammy, told his mother, “Mom, my head is ithy.” Assuming it was dandruff, she dismissed the concern. Soon after, Sammy and Elyse’s daughter, Zoe, spent a family vacation sitting head to head, watching movies together. When Sammy pulled a bug from his hair, the reality of the infestation became undeniable.
What began as a single family’s moment of panic quickly expanded. After treating the children and then helping nearby families, word spread fast. Calls poured in, and what started as a personal crisis revealed a much larger, unmet need. That moment became the foundation of Lice Sisters.

Our business specializes in lice removal and prevention for children and their families in the Greater Detroit area, Rochester MN, and Melbourne FL, with new locations coming soon. Whether your child is dealing with a current case, or just needs a head check because of an infestation at school, we can take care of those immediate cases. We will also help prevent future cases, with preventive and in-home treatments. We have developed our own line of non-toxic and easy-to-use products to not only help get rid of lice, but also help your children remain lice free. We also work directly with camps and schools.

In the early years, the business was built face to face through local markets, schools, and neighborhoods, forming personal relationships and earning trust one family at a time.
As lice evolved, so did we. Resistant strains made many traditional treatments ineffective, while the way families seek care shifted toward digital channels. As a small, woman owned business, we adapted to the growing demands of online visibility to ensure our non toxic, scientifically backed treatments could reach families beyond our local community.
Today, Lice Sisters has grown from a single location in Bloomfield Hills to multiple clinics across Michigan, Minnesota and Florida. With recognition and support from leaders such as Kevin Harrington, our focus remains unchanged: providing families with safe, affordable solutions that work.
