Intro to Head Lice/Lice Check

Hi, my name is Elyse with Lice Sisters. If you are watching this, that means someone in your family has lice or you are trying to determine if someone has lice.

Just part the back of the hair, like so, holding the comb firmly against the head, and then just part the side by the ear. Lift the hair and take quarter inch sections, parting the hair looking close to the scalp. You’re looking for eggs and knits along the way.

Continue methodically drawing quarter inch lines around the head. Another simple way is just to dive in and draw a quarter inch lines next to each other vertically around the head. Make sure to part the hair, and lift the hair, to look close to the scalp. Again, if you can pull it off easily, it’s just dandruff.

There are three main symptoms to look for:

1. Itching or scratching of the scalp
2. Redness along the nape of your neck
3. Swollen glands

About one out of five kids are not symptomatic. In my experience, kids who are not symptomatic usually have the most aggressive infestations and spread lice to the family.

With all due respect to doctors, pediatricians, and dermatologists, they often miss lice. It is hard to find, they don’t see it every day, and they don’t have time to do a thorough check.

If you find lice or cannot find lice, visit us on licesisters.com and we will walk you through the process.

I’m looking forward to helping you get lice free.

Lice Sisters Products

Hi, my name is Elyse Kolender with Lice Sisters, and if you are watching this, your child has lice or you tried treating lice on your own and failed. I have the solution.

Lice Sisters Nit Glue Dissolver is a non-toxic two-step process in one bottle. First, it kills lice in seconds, and second, it dissolves the glue that lice used to attach eggs and knits to hair, so they comb right out.

Lice is becoming a bigger problem because it is resistant to many drugstore treatments or remedies, and lice and eggs need to be combed out for effective treatment.

The Lice Sisters Nit Glue Dissolver is easy to use. Simply spray it on and start combing. Included in your purchase is the best Lice Sisters metal nit comb. It removes lice, eggs and knits easily. When used with a Nit Glue dissolver, this is a powerful tool to remove lice quickly.

The Lice sister’s repel Spray is a natural blend of essential oils. Simply spray on the head daily to repel lice. It smells great and kids like it too! Apply before school, birthday parties, sleepovers, or camp.

Treat Short Hair

Hello again. I am Elyse with Lice Sisters. Thank you for buying a Lice Sisters product. I’d like to teach you how to treat your family! Today, we are treating your child with short hair.

Start with clean, dry, and tangle-free hair. Have your child sit in a chair with a low back in good lighting. Place a towel around the neck. Place a damp paper towel on a table close by.

Start in the back and lift the hair with your finger. Spray the parted line you created. Move down from that spot about a quarter inch and lift another section of hair. Keep drawing lines horizontally with your finger. Spray the part and move down. Once you get to the neck, move over to the next dry section.

Start again from the top by making a horizontal part with your fingers. Repeat the process. Lift and spray moving down the hair from the top to the nape. I use gloves, but they are optional. For the front of the head, stand in front of your child, tilt their head up. Start at the top and take a section. Lift and spray in quarter inch sections, keep moving towards the forehead.

Avoid dripping product into the eyes. I suggest having the child hold a paper towel over the eyebrow to collect drippage. Be very careful not to get the product in the eyes. If you do by accident, don’t panic. Just flush the eyes out with cold water.

Run a regular comb through the hair to be sure the hair and scalp is saturated and detangled. Take the Lice Sister’s nit comb and start combing from the forehead and draw the hair back toward the nape. Wipe the comb on wet paper towel in between swipes, then comb from the top of the head downward, moving clockwise around the head. Comb in every direction until you get clean swipes.

When you are finished with all the sections and getting clean swipes, simply shampoo as normal. I recommend two scrubbings with shampoo. Be sure to scrub the scalp thoroughly and wash out all the debris. Conditioner is optional.

Thank you for choosing Lice Sisters to get your family lice free.

Treat Long Hair

Hi, I’m Elyse with Lice Sisters. Thank you for buying Lice Sisters products. Today we are treating your child with long hair.

Start with clean, dry, and tangle free hair. Have your child sit in a chair with a low back in good lighting. Place a towel around the neck. Place a damp paper towel on a table close by. Use a regular comb to part the back of the hair.

Spray the parted line and spray a couple inches out off to the side. Then draw a new quarter inch line next to the first and flip the hair over. Spray the new part down the line and spray a couple inches out again. Keep drawing quarter inch lines vertically along the side of the head as if coloring gray roots.

Find the original part and draw lines vertically along the other side of the head. Continue to spray the part and two inches off to the side each time. When you get to the ears, have your child lift their chin, tilting the head upward to avoid product dripping into the eyes. You may want use a washcloth or a paper towel to cover their eyes.

Use your thumb to rub the product into the scalp to prevent dripping into the eyes. If product gets in the eye, don’t panic. Just flush your child’s eye out with cold water.

At this point, take each section and spray the product through to the end so that all the hair is wet. Use the comb to detangle the ends.

Take the Lice Sister’s knit comb and comb underneath the hair, starting close to the scalp and pull it through to the end. Wipe the comb on a damp paper towel between swipes. Now comb over the hair, starting close to the scalp, running it through to the end. Repeat along the sides. Once you get clean swipes, then move on to the next section. If the hair is thick, use thinner sections. The more combing you do, the better the results.

Simply shampoo is normal. I recommend two good scrubbings of the scalp thoroughly to get out any debris.

Thank you for choosing Lice Sisters. I appreciate you letting me help you get your family life free.

Sanitize your Home

Hi, my name is Elyse with Lice Sisters. I would like to talk to you about how to sanitize your house and belongings. There’s only three ways to sanitize – extreme temperatures kill lice, either really hot or really cold.

1. The high heat of the dryer kills lice. 45 minutes on high heat minimum. Do not overstuff the dryer. You want the heat to disperse through the clothes and linens, you need them to be fully dry. If you choose to wash items ahead of time, that’s fine. Use the temperature setting that you normally use.

2. The freezer kills lice. Putting hair brushes, barrettes, rubber bands, helmets, combs, or any items that contact the hair in a Ziploc bag in the freezer for a minimum of 12 hours will kill lice.

3. Time kills lice. Bagging your items in garbage bags and leaving them in the garage or basement for one week will kill lice. I recommend the coldest part of the house.

There are three concerns when it comes to cleaning your home. I call them the three Cs: The couch, the car, and the comforters.

First, the couch. Avoid the couch for five full days, even if it’s leather. In the meantime, use folding chairs or a chair with a low back.

Second, the car. Vacuum the car seats and wipe them down with a damp cloth. Use rubbing alcohol on pleather place. Garbage bags over the headrest and back of the seats. Children’s car seats need to be cleaned carefully as well.

Third, comforters. Seal in a garbage bag for five days, and then wash and dry according to directions. Substitute with a throw blanket that you can dry on high heat after the five days are up.

Remember, lice always travels in groups of three to six kids, family members, classmates, or cousins. I advise clients to notify anyone in their circle that may have contracted lice or vice versa.

Thank you for choosing Lice Sisters.
